p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Makinon 24-50mm on Canon camera

I got this Makinon 24-50mm lens locally. and now I'm not able to figure out what I need to do so that I can use it on Canon 60D camera.

After searching a bit, found this article (http://forum.mflenses.com/viewtopic,p,1138660.html)mflenses.com, which shows same lens used with 5D2.

According to author, he used bottom/mount from other lens (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Auto-TeleSor-1-2-8-Wide-Angle-135mm-Lens-7104900-Korea-/280421960568) and screwed to Makinon 24-50mm lens.

The lens that I've got is already modified, and has same mount as shown in ebay link. but it won't fit on camera.
also, mount on lens seems quarter inch smaller compared to other lenses.

Can this adapter from amazon be used Amazon so that it can be used?

or can I change the rear element and replace it with Bower mountAmazon

Here are photos of mounts of two lenses side by side.
on Left is Tokin 12-14 for canon
on right is Makinon 24-50mm

Any help is much appreciated

Have you read the Alt Lens FAQ 'sticky' at the top of the forum list of threads?

The first thing you have to do is determine exactly what mount is on the lens you have. Your Amazon link shows a Minolta adapter, which would not be useful at all if your lens is a Pentax K-mount, which I think it is. You can use mount images in the Oleson link (below) to get a positive ID on your lens mount. I bet two cookies that it's Pentax K.

In order to use a Pentax K-mount lens on an EOS full frame or 1.3x CF camera, you have to remove the aperture control lever, which is the short bar that sticks up at the end of the mount, as well as an aperture lever shield or 'fin' that protects the aperture lever from hard knocks. It looks like your lens doesn't have an aperture shield, which is quite normal for 'third party' K-mount lenses. You also need a Pentax-K to EOS adapter. The aperture removal procedure is known as an aperture leverectomy.

For your 60D 1.6x CF camera, you might find an adapter that'll let you mount it without modifying the lens at all. Some Pentax-K to EOS adapters orient the lens at an angle to the Canon body, so that the aperture lever is in 'air space' in the mirror box. As a result, the aperture and focus index marks on the lens are out of alignment with the camera, when the lens is attached to the camera. Usually, these marks (i.e. the centre mark for the focus range) are at 12 o'clock when you look down over the top of the camera; with this type of adapter, the marks are rotated to the side. The lens still works fine, but it's often not so easy to see the aperture marks.

Here's links to more info. Many of these links are in previous posts, but I just updated it today, so this is the latest version.
