ok.. seeing as nobody has started this yet, here we go... And my first image is an in-camera HDR that I took today on the way home from downtown Toronto.
Well, I've got something a little different. I like to photo trains at night. Here's one I did about three hours ago on the BNSF Sioux City Sub, near Rosalie, NE. Shot at f5, ISO 800, sync.

Two23, you and O. Winston Link, eh. Cool.
Tell about the lighting.
The lighting was very, very simple. With snow on the ground I didn't need much. There was one SB-28 behind the concrete trestle, lighting the tractor head on, at half power. There were two SB-28 flash spaced 50 ft. apart on 8 ft. stands tilted up and pointed broadside at the trestle, full power. CyberSync triggers, sync at 1/250s. Tonight I'm going after a bigger trestle over a small frozen river, and will probably need my monolights. Trains at night is my specialty. Not many do it.

yeah...I wonder what they think about that?? the flashes going off at night. Great shots by the way!!
They don't care. Even if they notice them, they usually think it was lightning. On above shot I used x3 small flash. On some shots I've used up to five White Lightning XL3200 monolights, equal to about x80 small flash. Flash used outdoors tends to dissapate quickly. I have had people tell me they could see the sky light up from half a mile away though.
Another one from last night. D7100, Nikon 17-55mm f2.8, x4 Nikon SB-28 flash. Exp: ISO 800, f5.6, sync. Looking over the NEF, I have to say the image has a clarity that shots from even my D5100 doesn't have.
Question though, what exactly did you do? Nothing abnormal seems to stands out. It just looks like a great shot to me.

In ACR, cooled the WB a bit, maxed out the Contrast and Clarity, fully dropped the Highlights, added some Vignetting, and the usual lens corrections. Oh yeah, also had a Marumi Super DHG polarizer on, so it definitely made the paint pop.
Each generation forward, from the D90 to D7000 to D7100, has made my post processing routine easier than the last (I like dramatic ). You wouldn't believe what I'd have to do to a D90 shot to get it to look like this. Especially with the ACR of the time. I've also found that you can recover slightly more than 2 stops of highlights from RAWs before they get a bit weird looking (random spots here and there). At least in 12-bit compressed. Pretty insane for digital, and similar to film. Gotta do some testing to see if there's any difference between that and 14-bit lossless as far as the extremes (nothing significant on the D7000).

Had to convert the raw files to tiff via capture nx2 then import to lightroom. I know I could have just used nx2, but I prefer lightroom and its catalog system.
Taken today at my local zoo. So far, I'm pretty impressed. It's most definitely not as forgiving as my D4 when it comes to poor technique.
Both of these photos are roughly 60% to 70% of original. Basic pp was applied, but no sharpening. Both are handheld and the lens used was a 300 2.8 vrII coupled with a tc-14e
Cheers!.
