Indeed , the 55-250 needs the af drive update and would make a great pair .
The 70-300 should be updated to full ring usm but with the L version in the range I think we can kiss that idea goodby .
The good thing is STM should become the new base af drive in canon's range which is a positive step

I'm not 100% happy with it, although I do welcome it as better type of motor. But isn't the focusing ring decoupled from the focusing group, so that you can no longer focus the lens just mechanically?
