p.1 #1 · Welcome to Canada. Now go feed our Loons!

Hi,

I would like to say that this cute little family flew half-way round the world to have a photoshoot with us. But who are we kidding. They are here to visit their family & friends over the Chinese New Year. We're just a sideshow distraction. They saw our works through a friend of theirs which we shot for. Looks like this whole word of mouth stuff does work!

We like to make visitors to our fine Canuck nation feed our local wild life.

Ah, I get it now. I never knew why your coins were called loonies, until just now. Funny, down here we call your loons - 'Canadian Geese', kinda like we call your ham slices 'Canadian bacon'. Granville island is such a cool little place, although I haven't been there in something like 13 years.

OK onto the pictures.
1,4 - Love the T/S here, even if it was done in post ;-)
7 - Wonderful moment, nicely done.
8 - I do like the flare here, but the tilt, combined with him looking like he's about to fall backwards kinda gets me on this one.
9 - Tilt works on this one. the semi silhouette works nicely, and love the rim on dad keeping him separated from that dark BG.
10 - Another tilt that works nicely with the cool shape and framing.
11 - you know, normally this many tilts would bug me, but again, it works well here.
15 - cool little detail shot.
16 - dude. This is simply marvelous. Really good.
18 - haha, almost looks like lemon face.
20 - Nice ending. Love big wide shots like this.

Enjoyed the set, even though I didn't find any loons at all. I did see Mallard ducks and Canada Geese (there's no such thing as Canadian Geese, by the way, unless you are checking their passports).

You captured a lot of happy expressions and fun activities. Well done.

Thanks everyone! Appreciate your thoughts and comments.

@David - Dude you gotta visit Vancouver again! You do know Ottawa is the capital of Canada right? And the CN Tower is not an ICBM facility in disguise! Canada Geese have long necks. They make lots of noise and can get aggressive. Or maybe they don't like me. Loons are small duck like creature.

@Jim - Holy crap! All these times I thought those are Loons.... not to be confused with the folks that talk to themselves at park benches.
