Could you share your processing of the sky ?
Clarity boost in acr, rgb curves adjustments, and some of tony kuypers actions such as triple play curves, saturation masking, vibrance masking.

people don't realize just how great those skies are down in the southern hemisphere.
They're good, especially when you get away from the city lights. Someone told me that this sky is not possible from earth, and that I've blended a hubble image with a landscape shot

1) what is light painting exactly? Sounds like most were relieved this technique wasn't used
2) what was your process for making the composite with the two original images? was it in CS6?
3) was this with an IR-converted camera or not?
Light painting is using a torch to light the foreground. It can be difficult to get even lighting across the scene, it usually results in the closest objects being well lit but the more distant part of the shot remaining very dark.
The 2 images were blended in CS6 using a contrast mask.
The camera is a standard D800E, no mods.
Thanks everyone.
