Thanks for sharing the story and the magnificent photographs, Conrad.
It looks to me that- in a couple of pics of Sequoia- when she's braking, her tail feathers should be spread out... but they are not. I guess that's the paralyzing bit you mentioned. The slightest handicap could be a death trap if she were out in the wild competing for survival with other eagles.
It seems to me to have been a wise decision to turn her into an eagle ambassador.
Heaven knows that people need to learn to appreciate and protect our natural world. And best to teach them when they're young and their necks haven't turned bright red .
