I have this posted in the landscape forum, not sure how many of you venture over there. Did any of you take photos of this or see it? If not, you can still see it tonight. The comet will be "Below" the moon this evening. Here is what I got last night: you will need binoculars to see the comet

Nikon D800E
Nikon 70-200mm AF-SG VR II

I would be taking shots of the comet, but I'd have to be on top of Mt. Rainier in order to be above the clouds! We don't have any good weather forecast for quite some time and I fear the comet opportunity will be lost here in Seattle.

Awesome shot BTW.

Very nice stuff... I tried to check the EXIF but couldn't figure out your settings, can you please share them? Also, what is the best time you would recommend viewing/photographing the comet?

Thanks

Sure, Here is the exif info:
Focal Length: 200
ISO Speed Ratings: 640~1000
Lens Model: AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II
NIKON D800E
Adobe RGB (1998)

Look to the west about 10 degrees above the horizon around 8:15pm (I'm in central time) and sweep the sky with binoculars and it will be a small beige....well, comet. It is not huge from our vantage point but as it gets later it will be more visible. It sets around 8:50 pm central time and by this time it is too hard to find. I'd say between 8:10 and 8:35 you should be able to find it.
