Wow, the scenery is mind blowing. However, the overall color balance isn't really my cup of tea. I'd try a different approach to white balance and contrast. You really have a great shot here, improve the processing a bit and it will be a winner on all levels.

Amazing shot! Really enjoy it!

My only recommendation would be that tectonic plates do not shift, but rather drift

Wonderful concept. For me, the foreground needs to be a little darker and the water a little less silky.

Hi Kalina,

What a really interesting shot, I like the way the water falls down in this.

I think the white balance might be off a little ,,to me it seems the clouds are too purple,,maybe too cool,,I would try increasing the warmth?

What a fabulous shot of a geologic detail. Tectonic plates move, call it shifting or drifting, this is so full of feeling for geologic action it could be the center piece for a textbook on the subject.

It's been a while since I taught in this area, but assuming that things haven't changed that much I would have to say that tectonic plates do drift, but they also shift, rotate and sometimes lurch.

Having said that, I love the angle that you've chosen, though some of the colours do seem a bit odd (e.g. the water in the lower left).

You are right as I may have wrongly worded my reply.

Plates do shift, however, in Iceland, due to the geological setting it is at, plates just drift apart. This is geeky geologic stuff and not very relevant to the picture though, it was just a kind suggestion..

Here's a 10 minute read on tectonic plates and how they behave, it's a light non-nerdy read if anyone is interested

I love your chosen viewpoint! I was at the Gullfoss and didn't think of climbing up there. I really must get to Iceland in the winter!
