Enjoyable and expressive possibilities! I've been reading Bonny Lhotka's _Digital_Alchemy_. A while back I did an experiment in ink transfer using a thin un-subbed sheet of plastic and an inkjet printer. Might be worth more experimentation sometime.
Looking forward to see some of your digital alchemy experimentation.
Interestingly I am seeing more and more Kiwis online who are getting
into antiquarian practices including collodion.
Don't know how they are managing. Import restrictions make it difficult of impossible to import some of the required chemicals and companies that sell chemicals here generally won't sell to individuals. When I google the topics for NZ, mostly I find folks asking for advice on how to obtain the chemistry and replies with mostly unsuccessful tales of similar attempts. Also, the potential for pollution problems for chemical disposal is a significant issue. Add the issues of having no proper workspace leaves me long on pondering and short on action. OTOH, I've been known to ponder things for years before taking action.
Nevertheless, I do poke around for other ways of getting into image mischief using what is available.
I will at some point post some work by NZ locals doing antiquarian processes.
Also, most of us are getting wiser and learning the next logical step - how to
neutralize and dispose of chemistry including extremely dangerous chemistry.
There are cheap and readily available ways. It is ultimately all about having
the knowledge and knowing what to do.
