Hello I'm new here as well but I'll welcome you anyway!Lightroom seems very overwhelming at first but it actually isn't all that complicated once you get the hang of it. Maybe take a look at a basic run through of a typical workflow here~

I found this one helpful as I am a bit new to lightroom myself.

As for editing your picture it would help to upload a raw file as there is not all that much to be done with a jpg from flickr. If you are looking to host a file it seems dropbox works well and

Hello, thanks for the quick answer. The link for the raw is already in my post, I'll put it here again :

I read Phillip's article already, but I'd like to see what an experimented user can do, especially with a blurry image like this.

Wow, nice. C'est drôlement chouette comme ça, merci Nicolas !
So would you mind sharing the changes you made ? I don't know the common étiquette amongst photographers, so hope it isn't impolite to ask.

Interesting plenty of detail in the shadows, here is what Photoninja gives after a couple of minutes.

Here was what I would do with it I guess but it was tougher than I thought to work with the colors when I didn't have an idea of what they really looked like in the moment..I guess that's part of why this is interesting to try.

I sent it to PS CC for the sharpening, which was just an automatic resize and sharpen action I have.

Not impolite at all

Here's the adjustments I made in Lightroom, then I sharpened it in Photoshop CS6

Hello guys, thanks for your input !
So this weekend I played a bit with the picture, taking your advices in order to improve it. Sadly for me, I don't have Photoshop, and I don't plan to buy it just to do one operation, web sharpening. Is the one used by Lightroom really that bad ?
I always upload in full size so is it really important ?
Anyway, here's the new version :

Hey been a while since this was active, but does any one want to have a go with this image:

There is some nice light hidden in there even if it does look a little drab by default, and I feel there may be a bit more that can be gotten out of the image than I've managed so far.

Amazing how much leeway the sony raw files provide in post. Fantastic DR as well.

Took a stab at your shot aeonsim. I probably went a bit over the top with the colors but it seemed like a nice candidate for a really dramatic look.
Adobe Raw (WB, exposure, highlights)
Photoshop (Punched up the colors in lab mode, TK luminosity masks, added a light bleed to enhance light source, frequency based sharpening, downsizing)

Here's mine. Used a WB gradient to keep some blue in the sky but a sunset look on the bridge. Lowered exposure by more than a full stop. Added clarity to the sky, adjusted highlights and shadows, added some vibrance and adjusted luminance of blue, yellow and orange channels.

This was a great example of the advatages of raw shooting. I was inspired by the ones above and really took my time with this one, and learned a few new tricks while doing it.
