p.2 #1 · Mount Assiniboine - Alternative Shots

I like #3 because the foreground tree provides a sense of depth and serves as a leading-in point compositionally.

Really nice Scott. #1 and then #4 for me. Now you just have to get back up to see if you can get the Pan-STARRS comet in!

#1 for me too. The colours of the night coupled with the highlights of the moonlight are amazing

yosemitehiker: Glad you like 3. It was handheld waiting for the helicopter. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

sb in ak: We got up at 4am in the dark and cold and snowshoed a path in front of the lodge for 1. I am glad you like it. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

plsand: Thanks for choosing Glad you like them. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

dhb820: 1 I liked but struggled because of the 2 versions I had (autobracket) the nicer for the non sky was lighter and the nicer for the sky (without star trails) was the another. So this one is a blend. But I think I have to do some more work on it to improve the transition from sky to mountain. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

dhb820: Glad you like 1. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

douter: Glad you like 1,4. I am going to do some more work on 1. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

ckcarr: Glad you like it (1). As I said, I think I am going to take another run at processing it. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

nwadventurer7: We snowshoed. They offer skiing and guiding at the lodge but they also offered a avalanche transciever. I promised my wife to come back alive so we stuck to snowhoeing where we did not need the transciever. Glad you like 1. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

Ylwstonegirl: Glad you like 2 as well as 1. We starting shooting this view at 4am and finished at 8:30 or so when the sun came up. A hot chocolate would have been nice but it was mostly stamping the feet. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

David Leask: Glad you like 1. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

paul weston: The zeiss 25f2 is a great lens. I use it when shooting in the dark. It has high quality and its easy to find infinity in the dark. The best lens in the world does a lossy job unfocussed and the hard stop really helps. I recommend it. Glad you like them. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

pike40: It seems that 1 is the strongest draw. Glad you like it too. I will do some more processing on it. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

JimFox: I really liked the tree in 3. Glad you like 1 too. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

dsjtecserv: I agree on the sky. It is a blend of two exposures. The longer had star trailing. I am going to rework it. Thanks for the specific suggestions. I will look at 3 with your suggestions. Much appreciated. Scott

Ed Swift: Glad you like 1 and 3. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

slobodan: The tree was what attracted me to this picture. Glad you like it (3). Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

canadajim: I have been watching for Pan-Starrs and no luck as yet. The clouds keep holding me back. Glad you like 1,4. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

Phildan: Glad you like 1. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

Jfarmer: Glad you like 1. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

dbehrens: Glad you like it. I am going to take another run at processing it this evening. Much appreciated. Scott

matthewh133: Glad you like the view in 3. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

harland: It was not overly cold. Maybe minus 10c. Reminded me of the last time you and I tented there The challenge was that batteries don't last as long. I tried to use my remote radio control but its reach reduced with the temperature. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

Hey Scott,
Another fantastic series...what a winter wonderland.

I prefer #1 and 2 here.

#4 feels a bit unbalanced, and #3...not as good as #1 and 2
