On Friday afternoon Scott (Rory) Scott's oldest son and I flew into Mt Assiniboine Provincial Park B.C. we were to go snowshoeing and Rory was going to ski. We were supposed fly out of Mt Shark at 11:30 am but we were unable to because the helicopter pilot decided it was to windy. He was to fly a group from Canmore Alberta to the Assiniboine Lodge then come to Mt Shark and pick us up along with three or four more passengers.
When it was decided we would go I sat in the front beside the pilot and it was a scary ride into the lodge with the stong wind gusts, I was wishing I had sat in the back that way if we were going to crash I wouldn't see it coming. we all arrived safely around 3:00 pm. The pilot picked up a group from the lodge and took them back to Mt. Shark where he picked up another group and brought them to the lodge. On his third flight back to the lodge he decided it was too windy and shut it down until Saturday.
We were to fly out on Sunday morning but were stranded becuse of a snow storm. I heard one of the staff say we recived about 25 cm or about 10 inches of snow and that it was to clear overnight. Scott and I got up at 4:00 am to see if it had cleared off.

Scott and Rory thank you for our amazing adventure.
What an adventure you guys had! I am glad you survived to tell about it.
You have some really cool shots, but #2 really takes the cake... I have seen Christmas cards with scenes like that painted on them to make it look so perfect, but you got it all in a photo... wow... that one is incredible!

Foto Dude, I had Rory measure the snow depth before the big snowfall and it was at 1.2 meters. Thank you for your comment.

dbehrens, Thanks Dave
barrye, Thank you Barry.
My favorite is definitely not the last one. You should tell me to suck in my gut before you take the picture.
1 is nice but I would crop lots off bottom to decentre the picture.
2 is great but less suturation on the blue might improve.
3 is good - but I deserve part of the credit for carrying the red light I would like to see one without the light. My 25 f2 would not pick up the whole building. I really need to buy the 15mm f2.8 Zeiss now.
When I viewed the #1 and #4 shots.. you managed to take a virgin snow shots before Scott and Rory messed up the snow..
Lovely set. Also very adventurous story. Glad all are safe and well. Thanks for sharing.
