From a couple of days ago....a location we don't see a lot from here on FM - Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in far southern Arizona, we were treated to a stunning sunset display. The bushy ones are cholla's with the stately, grand saguaro standing guard. A very special place...we liked it so much we decided to sleep in the car rather than drive the 40 miles back to the closest motels - it was definately worth it as we got a great sunrise right in front of where we were camped.

That is very cool! I sure like it. And yes, we don't see many photo's from down there. I remember camping there and shooting maybe 20 or more years ago several times, but I haven't been back myself since then.

I live in Tempe and have been down there a couple times in the last few months. It looks to be a good wildflower season this year and am planing to spend a few over-nighters down there in the campground close to the spring blooms. Nice sunrise image Andrew!

That's a park that has been on my list since my family passed through it while I was a kid. I love the rim lighting on the cholla; that cactus was made for that type of lighting, and you nailed it. Thanks for sharing this.

Outstanding shot of a place that few Americans visit. I have wanted to see it, but you now know how remote it is. There have also been several incidents in recent years with respect to drug activities in the vicinity, scaring some of us enough to avoid it.

Yes, nothing quite like the way those needles light up. It's a difficult shot. Yeah, that's a gorgeous campground. I hope you made the loop around Ajo Mtn Dr!. The wallpaper pic on my phone is from there in mid-March with the flowers blooming.

I love southern Az and spend a considerable amount of time down there. You do need to be aware of your surroundings while out and about.
