A wonderful set, Mike.
Except for the vapor trails, your first shot would be the best B&W of Mt Hood I've ever seen. Not your fault, I know; Hood is on the approach to Portland International.
And the dunes' shot is a unique (processing) interpretation- and works quite well imo.

too funky.

All are beautiful scenes and well-composed.
In the first I would try to get more tonal separation between the foreground firs and the tree-covered areas of the mountain behind

I agree that separating the foreground firs from the tree-covered areas would add "layering" to the image. I will make that effort.
