Yes.... a 28/1.4. I thought that all three would come out at the same time.

28/1.4 is a gap left unfilled since the AF-Nikkor. Will be interesting to see how much larger it will be than the ZE/ZF 35/1.4. This also means the rumoured Leica-M 28/1.4 is imminent, if only to counter Zeiss.

Hope the new 85/1.4 is designed to render like my Contax N 85/!.4 . That is my favorite zeiss portrait bokeh lens.

I just hope the 28/1.4 isn't proportionally larger to the 55/1.4 as typical 28/1.4s are to 50/1.4s

I'd love to see a 16-35/2.8 in the ZE mount.

Haha, at that point it's pretty much Master Prime (or at least Ultra Prime) size, so hopefully they have the sense not to do that.

"We simply removed the limitation of price" one Zeiss representative told me on their booth at PhotoPlus Expo this week.

I somehow would have been more interested in an updated 50/1.4 Planar than a 55/1.4 Distagon which is priced way out of my comfort zone.

Hard to improve much on usual double gauss 50/1.4 design, they are pretty much similar. So to improve the contrast and performance wide open they had increase the size, weight, # of elements and cost. We are at the point in the price performance curve where you have to really inrease price/cost to get that incremental gain in performance. Maybe Sigma or Samyang can do it cheaper.
Yes, 4k is steep.Even more than some brand new Leica M lenses.

I think a great 85 f/1.4 would be a wonderful addition and it wouldn't have to cost as much as the 55 f/1.4 (although I am guessing it will be close). Adding a floating element to improve near MFD performance, adding a 4 or 5 high refractive glass elements, maybe an aspherical element or two (although I don't think this is necessary in a short tele), and I am sure they can make a great lens. I hope they follow the design of the 35 f/1.4, allowing some spherical aberrations wide open but delivering great bokeh and excellent CA control. This lens would then make a very different sort of portrait lens than the new 135 APO, and they would complement each other well.

I would love a great 28 f/1.4. It is hard to predict what this will be, but I would expect this to come out later as Zeiss has never had a lens that wide and fast to my knowledge.

Given the apparent design goals of this series, I think it's an unlikely place to find "pleasant aberrations" intentionally left in. Assuming a similar price range to the 55/1.4, this lens will cost ~2x as much as the 135/2 APO --- so I suspect it will be even more strongly aimed at clinically precise, ultra-high contrast/resolution, "modern" rendering from wide open. The wide-open background blur will probably be distinguished by being extremely uniform --- very little vignetting, "swirl", "cat's eyes," bright rings, color fringing, etc.

There was a Contax 25/1.4 prototype that recently re-appeared --- but I doubt that now rather old design would have much to do with this new lens series.

To me, it's more because of the physical constraint and cost that Zeiss has not released with such a fast WA lens. Throwing those two factors out, I don't doubt they can do it. And am I mistaken since I clearly remember that these three would be released simultaneously?
