how many percent is the more than ten year old 1D that you recommended for $ 5900 a couple of days ago?
It's not a ten year old camera - it's a 1DX. Lars got the wrong end of the stick and you have to forgive Thais being inaccurate when posting things in English be they images or text.
So see, Sven? I did not recommend a ten year old camera.

It doesn't matter but the text and website was in Thai And pics of cameras look the same in any language

If you want to continue this discussion we can do it in the thread with your link. It does not belong here. But for me it's obvious some kind of cheating or scam. If not they would change it. And they would not have faults in both the text and pictures.
I'm not saying they are trying to sell the 1D for $ 5900. It's the shop and your link that say it

But you are doubting me.
Sven you are wrong - completely wrong. I live 20 minutes from my local store. I was in digilife today buying a grad ND and asked them you berk. That price is for a 1DX.
So you are wrong, wrong, wrong.
I'll be back in there next week so should I take a photo of the price for you? I can post it on flickr if you like?
Sound like a fair deal? Get over trying to be right.

I used to prefer the CF cards, but now all of my computers and storage devices have built-in SD card slots, so I don't need a separate card reader. The ease and greater reliability of file transfer trumps any marginal (and largely theoretical) difference in card read/write speed.
It's far from just a marginal difference in read/write speed.

I agreed with bones74. The 1Dx isn't going to sell anymore photos then what the 5D3 can do. It's about prestige to some folks. Do I need all of those features the 1Dx has? Of course not. In fact a 5Dc can do about 90% of my work.
At the moment I'm currently using a 5d3 with grip. I hardly shoot sports and the 6FPS is more then plenty. But do I want 12FPS if I can afford it? Heck yeah I would. But I just can't think of 6,700 reasons why. Tough decision indeed.
Yea, I also have not seen too many 5DIII's at sporting events or other types of events. Only place I see them is occaisonally in the hands of a photo journalist, at weddings, and in studios.

Wedding, portraits, and photo journalist = 5D3
Everything = 1Dx
That's what I see. Not that the 5D3 can't do sports, it's just that the 1D series can do it better.

I went from the 1DsIII to 1DX. I don't miss the extra pixels, either.
P.S. I have 1DIV for the type of birds that fly, especially the small ones.
Jim, I think you may wish to try the opposite, contrary to this forum's wisdom. For small BIF, such as Robin, Common tern, Swallow, Pijun, etc.......you should use 1DX, not 1DMkIV.
Now, for bigger BIF, such as Eagle, Crane or Goose, where AF performance is not that critical, you could shoot with 1DIV as well, if you feel that some extra pixel density should help you.
Now, the reason is that in the case of smaller BIF, AF performance has probably 100 times more significance than some extra detail which you might, at least in theory, capture. That is why you wanna use the best focusing camera (and lens) in your arsenal on those, even if it doesn't have the highest sensor pixel density.
That's the way I see it, YMMV.
