It sure looks like Texas is full of these gems!
But then again, Texas is big...
Some of these cars look restorable too!

Dan, Texas does have a few, but in decent locations with dark skies, they're pretty rare. I recently stumbled on a location that has tons of old cars and stuff. It's all spread out over e property. It's is one of those.

I've been hunting cars to shoot like this for more years than I'd care to admit, and they really are a rare thing in the wild nowadays. That's why this place I've found is so special to me.

I've visited Texas (the greater Austin area) a few times over the past few years, and I have to say my biggest disappointment is that it was so hard to find ANY old, interesting stuff. Seems like it's all Kinkos and such, even driving an hour or two out of Austin. We're rapidly eliminating our old, cool past, I'm afraid.

Bill, definitely so. The older cars and buildings are quickly disappearing. I live in DFW, and it's generally at least 2 hours for me to get somewhere decent. In the case of this location above, it's about 4 hours from me.

Although, that's fine with me, since it's now a known commodity for me. I've driven many many times that distance X 2, and found that the target was gone or ruined. But, I enjoy the adventure of the trip, so it's all good.

Nice primary color palette and isolated subject. I really like the diagonal of the car leading us into the frame. Great job on this one.

that is just gorgeous! We have old junkers all over the countryside around here .. nothing quite so photogenic

The first night I shot this, there was no moon, so I provided all the light. Here it's nearly full moon, so it certainly made this shot possible, in my mind.
