p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Stacking ND Filters on 17-40L

Has anyone had experience with stacking ND filters on the 17-40? I currently have a Kenko Zeta 77mm 3-stop ND, which has a thin filter ring and is super HMC coated. I was thinking about getting a 6-stop Hoya Pro1 ND and stacking the two to get 9 stops of light attenuation.

Would stacking these 2 thin-mount filters cause severe vignetting at 17mm on FF? I've read differing opinions on filters and vignetting with the 17-40L at 17mm, so I wanted to see if anyone here had first-hand experience.

Also, since both filters are multicoated, would the added flare/reflections not be so bad?

No direct comparison of stacking ND filters, but I stacked a 2-stop ND filter with a slim circular polarizer on my 17-40 lens without seeing any issues. No vignetting or flares either.

I stacked a regular polarizer and a GND and didn't see any issues -- I was also in the f/8-f/16 range as well.
