Some more samples with the Singh-Ray polarizer. These are the photos that I actually liked, and where I didn't think that coloration of polarized light looked terribly fake ...unfortunately I haven't taken every one of these photos with and without the polarizer.

1. Mostly gold mode, 0.9 Grad

2. Blue mode.

3a. Blue mode, with Canon 24-70mm f2.8L lens

3b. No polarizer. This version was made with a different lens, Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L, so it is slightly different. But I think it shows off how different it is from polarizer effect nonetheless.

I spent a few days with Darwin who uses this filter alot. He uses it in scenes where it is in shadow or low setting sun to maximise the effectiveness. Using it as an every day filter/polariser isn't what it was designed for. And to see what he can make out of grey boring light is amazing, definately on my short list.

The Singh Ray Gold n Blue is a great filter to keep in your bag----especially when travelling and the light/weather isn't what you ordered. I rarely use mine, but then again, I didn't buy it to use everyday.

But you do need to do some post-processing on your raw files. Singh Ray has an excellent blog post on post-processing with their Gold n Blue: http://singhray.blogspot.com/2007/07/getting-what-you-see-with-gold-n-blue.html
