Skunk Cabbage, this morning in the Elwha Valley. The plants started pushing up through the swampy, cold and clear streams in Late January and will be fully matured with large cabbage-like leaves in late March. Photographing Skunk Cabbage sometimes means getting your feet wet, unless you have a long lens.

Thanks for looking

Bob

Cool. I love skunk cabbage (aka swamp lanterns). I remember setting up a yellow tent once in the olympics and the flies were all over it thinking it was a giant swamp lantern.

Hi user222,

Many thanks for your most welcome and kind comments and glad you like the image as well having a good experience in the Olympics. Insects are really attracted to Skunk Cabbage.
