I am not sure....after the initial demand for a lens is satisfied, and there is stock available for incidental purchases, some dealers such as Aden camera or the Camera store, drop their selling prices down to 5 % or so above the CPS price. For example, the 800L CPS price is $10,750 (if I remember correctly), but their selling price for the lens has been around $11,300 for a year or even longer, and now it is close to $11,000. Therefore, the effective CPS discount has a tendency to diminish with time, if one relates it to regular going prices, as I think one should..
The other day I bought 815L, and my CPS discount was merely $18 relative to the lens selling price at that time.
