For all future Googlers: the shutter count is stored in the Unique Image ID. Find a website that does hexadecimal to decimal (google for "hex to dec converter"), then paste the Unique Image ID in. You can ignore the leading zeros (i.e.: 4fec is enough).
HauntedHat got it correctly. 20,000 is what I shoot in about 3 years. Obviously, professionals shoot a lot more frames with their cameras. Thorsten Overgaard says he has 120,000 actuations on his M9 since September 2008, for an average of 111 photos a day.
