Canon sent me an email listing 20-30% off some refurb lenses.

Picked up a refurb 50mm 1.4 USM for 255.99 plus tax, FedEx Ground was free. Good until supplies are gone or to the 28th.

Yeah! And although they say the 16-35 L is in stock, you can't put it into your order. Aren't computers wonderful, now all they have to do is learn how to use them..

@Ed Peters ... Screenshot it and send it in complaining. Might get them to get you a new one at that price. You never know.

@zquaratella ... Im not sure how to take your comment, Im assuming you mean the 50mm is the better deal, which I would agree. However, it's better for video sound and owning this lens myself, I have to admit my version is tack sharp. Personally, I skipped over the 1.8, snagged the 40mm and waited on a good deal for a 50mm 1.4 (which I got today) Either way, Im happy

I was trying to get a refurb 50 1.2 a month or so back and the same thing happened.
Read "In Stock" but the "Add to Cart" button was grayed out.

I actually sold my 50 1.8 for the 40mm! I love it, too!! It's welded to my camera. I just wished I knew I could get the refurb for less...

$128 for the 40mm pancake - that was tempting to pull the trigger.

This deal started at midnight, 19 hours before it was announced here. It was posted on Slickdeals on the 20th. Desirable lenses tend to sell out within an hour. The 16-35 was only available until early morning. Canon does this 20% sale every few months. If you want to catch the next one, create a Deal Alert and SD will email you in advance.

Good idea. I saw it on SD yesterday. The 1.4x extender that I am looking for was already gone !

I was holding my breath that a 100-400 would pop up but no luck.
