Peter here are a few links within a larger website on the Gardens at Bow Valley Ranche (Fish Creek Provincial Park) that will give you an idea the gardens are all about. I love going through this garden. They started to add new things over the last couple of years.

What are you coming from?

The landscape shooting of the wandering lost - Canikon. D800E, 5D MKII.
The quandary - spend a bunch for needed Nikon AF glass on a camera I use for landscapes using MF lenses or get a camera that addresses shortcomings of 5D MKII ( 1DX- top notch AF, high FPS, clean images above ISO 3200)

So a thinking photographer made a rational decision based on the equipment (lenses) that he already had

You Canonistas (Nikon gear heads too) crack me up. Gear today is soo flaming amazing if one brand doesn't work for you, the alternative aint gonna help

Enjoy the 1 DX. by all accounts it is an amazing piece of gear

And running too when I am training for races, when a bunch of people aren't enjoying the area, I will jog through on the gravel paths, it is nice and relaxing and knowing I only have 3km to go.

I photograph there a lot, whenever I get a new lens I usually end up there.

Yep it cracks me up too. Like the saying bad photographers blame their equipment.

Well in this day and age of Technology, guess what equipment fails, cameras have both mechanical and electronic failures, camera's have left side focus issues, sensor alignment issues, or sling oil on the sensor after 600 or so shots.

Sometimes certain equipment works better for one person than it does another. I too learned the hard way. Its not if we can or cannot shoot with different brands of camera's or not, its the fact that one or more models or a particular brand may be found to be less troublesome for a particular person.

So yeah it cracks me up Tim that sometimes a casual observer thinks they understand the logic behind another person's motives when they have absolutely no clue.

Hmm. That one's front focused a bit. (Woman's skirt sharper than her face.) Unless that was the intent.

How does that go? The grass is always greener on the other side? Sooner or later all of us misguided and lost souls come back to Canon.

The grass is only greener because it's fertilized with $hit.......... Just sayin.

Once you move the manure out of the way all your left with is your decision on what you want and what you feel is the proper gears for YOU but we all know that the light side is the right side.

So are their noise levels. Have you seen the Pop Photo Labs tests on the RX-1?

I have always had this incredibly strong urge to troll; just once, so here goes

There is one commentator who claims lifting in lifting shadows by as little as 1 stop on 1Dx pics at 100 iso that he can discern shadow noise. (banding and cross hatching)

discuss
