You got two interesting shots here, #1 is my favorite here. I like the bit of pink in the background. As for the long shutter speeds, I am not sure you really gained much here except to blur some branches in #2. The whitening and flattening of the water from the height that you shot probably wouldn't look much different at 6 seconds as it did at 25 seconds.
Now my reasons for a long shutter speed in day lit conditions typically would be that there was already some kind of fast moving clouds in the sky and the longer shutter speed magnifies that movement. Or, I would be closer to the water where the longer shutter speed effect can really be noticed more. Now that's me, but that's my suggestions for longer shutter speed use here.
