p.1 #1 · Lower Twin Falls - Olallie State Park - WA

This waterfall is fed by the South Fork of the Snoqualmie River. I went up to shoot the upper falls hoping that the gol darn log in the middle of the falls was gone. But, not today. So I concentrated on the lower scenes.

Wonderful image. Love the way the composition just kinda meanders through the scene, and especially appreciate the choice of shutter speed.....excellent job of capturing the feel of movement in the water w/o turning it into a cotton candy blob.

Hey John,
I'm not feeling this one...the top fall is going in 1 direction...and then the bottom flow feels like abruptly ending. I see 2 possible comps in this 1 photos

1. a little from the right (may not be possible) where the top fall is a little more centered. and that way you will get a nice flow going towards the end.
2. A closer crop/comp starting just from the middle of the photo and then the bottom.

Hi Sunny,

I had mixed feelings about the top falls myself with it flowing the opposite direction and all. But it kinda grew on me as I kept pondering it. Thinking that it did give the meandering look as mentioned by Fo. Also, one more foot to the right and I was in the drink.

Lower water in the summer and I might be able to show the whole top falls which I'm still interested in capturing.

As for the bottom flow, my lens, 17-50 on my T3i, wasn't able to capture what you see here. This is actually 3 horizontal shots stitched vertically so I could get the complete long rock to show which I think helps complete the lower right corner.

I do have some closer comps of the immediate and intermediate little falls that you mentioned, but I haven't processed them yet.

I appreciate your comments and suggestions.
