p.1 #1 · Samyang 24mm T/S Pre-Order at B&H

B&H now showing available for pre-order @ $999.

Just waiting to see if axes can be rotated in parallel like the Canons.

If yes, count me in!

Fred Miranda notes the axes can move in parallel.

I'm in for a copy. If IQ is good on my D800E I'll be a happy camper, allowing this "old fart" to enjoy much from his LF (8x10 Deardorf) days in the 1960s in a smaller, lighter package. Yowza!!

Can somebody give me a brief explanation of what is possible w/ a tilt-shift lens other than the miniature effect? Could you stitch huge panoramas both vertically and horizontally without changing the plane of focus?

do a search for tilt shift and read up on view cameras, or maybe perspective control lenses. the internet is your friend.

Mike K just posted all these links on the Canon forum, the intro article should help out.

Shift is more straight forward application for perspective distortion. Most folks just look through the viewfinder and dial it in. However, tilt requires some practice.

You might want to change the orientation of the tilt & shift axis on your 45 TSE

Have fun with your new lens. TS use opens up several new avenues of creativity.
