Great capture. First glimpse I thought there were 3 people enjoying the sunset, then realized it was only one, adds a bit of mystic to the photo.

Thanks much for your notes.
Taoguy: frankly, I don't remember exactly if there was just one guy or if there were two... But there were NOT three!

The effect is - of course - due to the long exposure. Note that I simply love to take shots at that particular, somehow unique spot, because numerous people usually join there to enjoy the marvellous sunsets and / or go fishing, especially around and after sunset. It's somehow magical, just a wonderful place. If I manage to convey such a feeling, it's OK.

Hi Jim,
Thx much for your note: the lines and curves you addressed are changing nearly every day (and night) due to the fact that the small river is running more and more dry during January and February (temperatures around 40 °C and more are frequently encountered in SA and Adelaide during summer). It's exactly this - more or less adverse - effect to the environment which provides intriguing scenes for the photographer.

Volker, that is a very striking image . I love the effect of the person ghosting in the long exp. it just works so well and the reflection is just perfect. Extremely creative. Regards,

Great shot. The horizon line is perfect, and the clouds could have been painted brush strokes. Very nice.

Fabulously seen!

If any comment, then:

1. I would try to separate the figures from the background a bit more (local contrast, increasing shadows and blacks simultaneously?)

2. Lighten up a tad the upper part of the sky, to bring it more in line with the luminosity of the bottom reflection

Is this a multi image blend? Top half looks like a panning left to right image blur and the bottom has none of the colours in the sky reflecting in the water.
