Well... I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a X100s "hoping" it would give some of the feeling in my Nikon FM2 and F3 and Olympus OM 1/2. Lately I've been kind of tired and pissed of at the Olympus Em-5, it has just felt as if I was shooting a computer with a lens on it and it's also felt a little too cramped.
The moment I picked the X100s out of the box it felt great. The minute I put a battery in it and started testing I knew it was the camera, are more, I was hoping for. It feels like it won't be in the way, every button feels as if though it is placed where I want it, AF points are easy to select as is ISO, size is terrific. I was looking for a camera that was really aimed at the three essentials of photo-making (Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO).
Now I just need to get my vision sorted and start to really "see" and learn more. I have a feeling it might actually help me become a better photographer.
I've only had time to try it out today and only during the dark hours so nothing lower then ISO 6400 but here comes one of the first. There is a storm raging here in the south of sweden at the moment and this tree came down about 100 meters from my apartment.
(Yeah I know, too much text).
