Has potential, but certainly not there yet.
I've never been one for all the in-camera effect modes, but I decided to try a few hand-held in camera panoramas with the X100. Once I figure out the right cadence for the swing I think this has potential to be fun. I'm still going through some stuff from a recent business trip, but most of the panoramas I grabbed are showing banding similar to this. I'm sure the results would be better with (a) a tripod and (b) my understanding the process better. This is untouched, all in camera except for resize for here.

Yes, I have not been able to get a successful pano without banding in the sky despite trying different options. Shame because it has great potential. If anybody has found a foolproof method I'd be interested to hear how it's done.

I love my x100.

I have wanted an x100s since it was announced. Mostly for better AF and for the ability to MF. Really, for people on the move, or for shooting while walking, the x100 is next to useless.

Am I going to be disappointed? What is the RAW processing like these days?

Here's a recent shot from a road trip to NYC.

Great shot! As for RAW processing it's getting better but I still do it in camera. Then I work with the JPEG in LR until I get it where I want it. I usually have just a couple of photos that I've picked out so it's not a big deal for me. I love these Fuji cameras!

Honestly, that's just about what I'm doing now with my x100. The jpegs are just so nice.

The shot I posted needed very little in the way of editing to make it pop like it does. I think I will bite, I just need to find one!

Thanks

So I was calling around to local stores yesterday, could only find 1 single x100s in my entire city (population around 700k).

Talked to a kid working at that store, he said it was on hold for a woman who wanted to exchange her x100s because it "had battery problems".

Went into the store, talked the manager into selling it to me because she hadn't been in for 2 weeks and wasn't answering her phone.

I am in love.

This is processed in LR 4.4. What is everyone using for theirs?

a couple from sunday hike. (X100S)
Like the camera but why in the hell Fuji doesn't made a little lock against free esposure wheel turning I need to look every time at the esposure before press the shutter....sometimes I find it at -2 or +2 only because it turns when I put the camera into the bag....Fuji, take a look at the new RICHO GR wheel.

nibutto, excellent images from your hike. I really like the crispness and color.

georgms, great capture of the kids focus on the ball. In fact everyone in the scene is focused on the boy and ball. Really great!

Much too magenta for my taste. Almost radioactive colors.
