Just got this one "Explored" thanks to the high shutter speed sync of the Fuji x100.

The X100 does landscapes too. When 35mm isn't wide enough you can always stitch 2 shots

Nice set Marty! Glad you found the place. We drove past it again a few weeks ago and I took some more shots, but haven't had time to process them yet. Did you see the date on the betting booklet? It has the year printed on it, but I have forgotten what it said.

Did you check inside the Linjegods "container" too? The floor is covered in magazines, empty peanut butter jars and a bottle of fish liver oil (yuck)! Being so far away from everything, I can't even begin to imagine who has been using that place as a hide-out.

Thank you so much, Helena! It was an interesting place to explore and good way to test the X100S (which I love more and more). I haven't look into Linjegods container I didn't notice the betting booklet, but farmkalender was from '91-92 I probably return there with my Canon and Zeiss... ))

Glad you enjoyed it! It's not big, but lots of interesting things to shoot. I too would like to go back now when I have a small wide angle that I actually take with me. Thanks for the info. I thought the date was on the betting booklet, but it was probably the farm calendar (or possibly both).

Fantastic shot!

My old man turned 50 a few days ago. Not bad for half a century, eh?

Hi Analogg,

Surprised that nobody has complimented you on your lovely landscape image. At least I don't think they have. Did you stitch via photo shop and was the image taken using a X100 or X100S - Please tell.

Thanks,

Adam.

Thanks Adam!
This is a two shot stitch done using PS's Photomerge. The camera was the "classic" X100.
Here are two more examples (non-stitched) of the X100's take on landscapes.

Those look great! Looks like an off camera flash used in the outdoors ones, shame the child in the bottom was decapitated...

Well, I've had the X100 for a couple weeks now. Still trying to dial in settings that make sense to me. The use of things like auto-ISO and auto-DR are completely new to me and I've not totally embraced either. In the end, I remain confident in the possibilities with this machine. It seems to be an awesome travel camera and besides the "is that a film camera?" or "is that a Leica?" questions it pretty much is not even noticed. Dramatic difference between the reaction to this and my 1D stuff.

I really like the in-camera B&W processing and find myself using it as a single shot/B&W device most often. The auto-DR seems to respond pretty well with this but if I also shoot raw (usually I do) .. the RAW results are often puzzling and usually dark. I'm not entirely sure I like the auto-DR look in color captures. Sometimes gets to be a bit over the top in color/saturation/HDR-ish look. Still need to play with that.

The shots below are where am I with it so far. Mostly SOC with exception of a Lightroom 4.4 crop to 16:9. Some mild localized adjustments made on a couple. Sharpness couple be a bit better in a couple but these is also something quite satisfying with less than perfect. Definitely like the film shooting I grew up with.

Yeah the bottom photo was taken by my 5yr old daughter, she doesn't quite grasp the concept of framing yet.

fuji x100s

(iso's 1250 - 2000)

In light of the lovely shots from Gothenburg (?) and elsewhere, may I present the lovely local town of Stalybridge - centre of no universes and home to very little glamour. All taken on a 2 hour photo walk this evening:
