I do long treks (900km odd) and leave the D810 and D600 behind. The X100s (plus TCL) is superb. The 35mm Fov and the 50mm with TCL (which I use rarely - mainly portraits) cover a multitude of situations. I've only taken the TCL on one of four such treks and didn't really need it.
The fuji is quick enough, and the form factor means you can have it ready without anyone giving a damn. If you want evidence, PM me.
I've not used the X100 - read a lot about it - perhaps it's AF is a bit slower, but it works - and the principle of zooming with your feet works the same. It's liberating to do that - truly.
