p.1 #1 · All Avocets

From two different days shooting at Palo Alto Baylands. Decisions about exposure and post-processing are challenging for these birds, with few intermediate tones. I would appreciate any advice/feedback/suggestions.

#1-#3 are portrait shots all taken on a sunny day last month; #4 is a group shot (also sunny); #5 is a portrait on an overcast day (but just a week later, even though this bird's plumage has started to look like summer).

Stunning shots !! You have captured the grace of this beautiful bird, reminds me of a ballet dancer especially in the first three shots. Lovely work.

#1 - #4 were from early January, #5 early February; all from a kayak, which works pretty well for getting close to Avocets and sandpipers. Ducks are much harder for me.
