Can a westcott softbox for speedloghts be used with a alien bee stone?

Iknow strobe usually face forward and speedlights usually points to the back of the box to help scatter the light.

Do they make adapters to hold the post for the box and the strobe?

Each brand of light requires a different "speed ring"
Speed lights require a special bracket and speed ring
You can see some here http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=westcott+speed+ring&N=0&InitialSearch=yes&sts=ma&Top+Nav-Search=

Is it a standard softbox or is it the Apollo line? If it's Apollo then I know a lot of people do use those with AB. They have the advantage of not having to have a speedring since it mounts like an umbrella.

The apollo can, Zack Arias does it. Since it is an umbrella mount you just put the shaft through the umbrella hole.

When you say "Westcott softbox for Speedlights" I assume you are refering to the Apollo soft box series. If so, yes, they can be used with AlienBees monolights. You would still aim the light to bounce off the back of the soft box if you put the monolight inside the box.

Here's a video on how to do that:

Note that no speed ring is required; you just use the umbrella shaft holder on the monolight, which is on top of the AlienBees lights.

You can also use an adapter to keep the monolight outside the box, firing through the bottom opening. This opens up the inside of the box more, and lets you access the controls on the light easier. It also works better than the inside-the-box method if you have large monolights.

Here's what you need for that:

Here's a video showing how to change from using the monolight inside the box to using it on the Mono Arm. (The video uses the Apollo Orb, but the Apollo Soft Box works the same way.)
