I like both, the second doesn't say storms to me, but i like the the path of the road and textures.

The first ones really cool with the rays coming through.

Fantastic light and great technical control in the first. There is so much to see, return to, I think the first is a real winner Chris!
Second is quite nice as well, but a bit too much road for me. I think it might be stronger cropped from the bottom for a more pano orientation. Maybe crop about two thirds of the way up to the small indentation in the brush on the left?
Bit oversharpened for my taste, as presented.

The first image really conveys the idea of a coming storm- excellent.
The re-do of the second is a BIG improvement imo.
