Wow, that's a lot of "gears". The problem, of course, is that it's hard to judge what it's worth because many of the bodies are so hard to identify with the eensy photos.

"HACOFLEX"? I've never heard of that one before, so I looked it up. Interesting.

Its been running for months with no bidders. It would certainly help to have better pictures or a list of what he has, but I'm sure that would take forever to assemble. Maybe just a list of the high value pieces would help.

Has that photo been posted in this forum before?? Looks familiar.

Anyway... that's a lot of cameras n junk. I've been looking at buying a home and have seen some crazy collections of stuff while touring houses lately. I just think: wow, you're gonna pack and unpack all that when you move? then some lucky relative gets to figure out what to do with all of it when you die.

Dealt with something to this on a MUCH smaller scale when I was deputized (as the "family photographer") to deal with my late Uncle Henry's camera collection. My uncle never met a yard sale camera he did have to have

I believe there were around 40 cameras (lots of Kodak) and maybe 60 lenses and who knows how many filters, adapters, flashes, etc. Unfortunately there wasn't a single Leica in the whole d*mn lot!

It took a fair amount of time, but I sectioned it into reasonably similar lots, described and photographed them, then eBayed the whole of it. I don't think I netted $500 for all the effort.

I can't image anyone dropping $35k (much less $45K) on a total unknown. It is intriguing to watch sellers on eBay that will list a camera beyond what it is commonly selling for and relist over and over again at the same price. Maybe they think - as a real estate agent friend of mine once remarked - that their DNA makes it more valuable

Not only did the buyer suffer from "buyeria" but, the seller is also not in touch with reality.
