Yesterday I tried to find a better position to get closer to the eagles. I was "hiding" in the grass shown in shot 1.
The first shot is from day one, but it will give you an idea of the terrain that they were hunting. It is wet marsh , water shallow in a lot of places. This, by the way, is where the harriers like to hunt as well. Saw them again, but too far away for any good shots, still thrilled to see the gray ghost again.
Shots 2 and 3 are yesterday, a bit closer , but lousy light, but what are you going to do. It is what it is.
Shots 4 and 5 are only about 3 miles away and look at the difference . Spring is in bloom in certain places of the marsh. I wish I could do more justice to just how beautiful the marsh and its variety can be.
I am very new to all of this especially finding raptors. However, it amazes me that in all my many visits to these places, I have never seen another photographer. I rarely ever see another person, maybe the occasional fisherman or retriever trainer, but never a photographer.
Help me get better with your nits and crits, please.
Hope you enjoy,
First time he lands in a tree not surround by branches and that is the light I have !
Spring has sprung
I wish I could do justice to the beauty in the marsh.
