My cat tigger

He used to fit perfectly in our fruit bowl and sleep.
This picture of him stands out to me since I blacked everything out and made it high key.

Great pose. And the point of view is excellent
I think blacking out the background on the sides was a good move. I'd like to see some of the highlight detail brought back.
Another thought. Do you think this would also work well with a square crop?

I worked hard trying to bring back the highlights but unfortunately its an old image that I had already processed so there was no saving it. As for the square crop, I thin you might be right that it would look somewhat more symmetrical.

Tyler,
What do you use to process the image? Maybe there is a bit more recovery than you think. I just reprocessed an older image with blown highlights in LR3 that became more than acceptable in LR4.

I use aperture 3 for most of my editing and the more serious stuff I export to PS CS6.
