I put together the Nikon 1.7x and a Tamron 1.4x on my D800 using an AFS Nikkor 300mm f4.0. This made a minimum aperture (according to the camera) of f6.7 - However, I think it is actually f7.1 - regardless, the D800 focused accurately, and relatively quickly in flat light. The AF on the D800 is nothing short of amazing. I have had it at over f8 and it will still autofocus. Stacking the converters is fun, the best part here for you is the sharpness of the image as often that's where stacking lenses like that can go bad. But your shot looks sweet!
