These are also from Saturday’s adventure on the beach with Eric, his son Jeffry and Bob. The first was taken as I was arriving. I moved to get some side light and eventually climbed the next dune over and got some nice rim light. I’m not shore if the owl had its eyes closed because it was sleepy or if it was trying to keep the blowing sand out of its eyes. At the end when I was on the dune I was facing directly into the 20 MPH sustained wind and it was gusting and 30f. I felt like I’d been sand blasted when I got home and it was worth every moment to be with my friends and this wonderful creature.

A very nice set Morris, although I'm still having a hard time with arctic owls on NW beaches for some reason. Just have to accept the fact they migrate more than I ever thought they did.

Glad I got to see this great white owl and even more fun with you. Not the easiest shooting conditions and the owl obviously was having problems keeping its eyes open too.

It would be nice to see those yellow eyes, so you just have to go back. It is weird to see a snowy on sand! I hope he is thriving. I love that bird! Don
