Growing, shifting, dying... the terraces move every year.

Totally agree with Ray. Very cool patterns and textures, indeed. Lovely composition to add.

Hey Charlie,

Nicely done on this one. I like that it appears you have some water pour off, that is something I have not been able to capture there yet.

That's one of the nicest shots I have seen of the terraces. I totally missed this scene when I was there this fall..........it has to be along the upper boardwalk area somewhere but I can't figure out were.....any hints?

With not much imagination, this could be an aerial shot, good capture Charlie!

Thank you all for the kind remarks.
Because the main terrace grows and changes directions and dies so rapidly, the overall impression is that there isn't much there except vast sections of white, lifeless-looking "carcasses."
But if you walk all sections of the boardwalks you'll probably find as much "good stuff" as ever- just in smaller sections and more scattered.
I agree about the "aerial" look, Douglas. I hadn't noticed that until processing the slide scan.

Hi Charlie,

What a cool shot. The pools and swirling water have my head spinning.

Great abstract capture Charlie. If it wasn't for the title of your post, it would have taken me a little longer to figure out what I was looking at.

Again- thanks for the kind remarks.
I seldom think "abstract" when I'm readying myself to take a photograph. I'm so much tuned in to the reality of what I see that documenting it in an interesting way is about all I think of or hope for.
Even after processing an image, often I don't see it as having abstract potential until someone else mentions it.
Yet another good reason why I enjoy FM.

WOW. Really, WOW! Love this one Charlie! A CW turn to get the distant plains level would be my only suggestion!
