Took a short break.
Jeffrey's kind words encouraged me to crank up the old scanner and get back to work.
Not a winter shot (we don't have moose in Oregon's Willamette Valley).
A sway-backed female dipping for tasty munchies on the bottom of the pond.
Experience indicates that these big bruisers are far more tolerant of human approach when water separates them from us. Fine by me, because I have no desire to have one of them come after me because I made the mistake of getting too close.

I like the water coming off it and you have good eye contact

A friend was riding his motorcycle on a remote road when a family stepped out in front of him. When he realized he could not stop he put the bike down and slid under the mother with it watching him and even turning it’s head as he slid between it’s legs

Never having seen a moose in the wild, I find these quite entertaining. This must be just after she came up for air...I can't image such a wake otherwise...cool shoot.

Skidding and sliding UNDER a moose!? Wow- that's an experience to be remembered.
I remember Paladin and the TV show. Among other things, it was probably the only time the lead actor played the role of a nice guy

Thank you Gary, Rob, Chris, Lil, Socrate and David.
The water was shallow enough that plants could grow on the bottom (one of the differences between a pond and a lake), but deep enough that Ms Moose had to completely submerge herself to wrap those luscious lips around the tasty plants she liked. When she came up to chew and swallow- that was when I pressed the shutter.
When moose are feeding in ponds, they usually give us enough time to watch and photograph several "dips" before they move on.
