I actually have a non IS version --same condition as listed above and I LOVE IT....I just wish I had IS....
SO, if you have one that's old and scruffy, but working and the images are not affected, lemme know.....

Ha I have the Non-IS version that's seen better days every way but optically and was so excited to read this until I saw the IS. I upgraded to the IS II, and it was well worth the upgrade.
