Hey Phil,

A nice road shot here. This is a case where the powerlines actually help the shot rather then hinder it. They help in balancing out the offset road in this.

For the area it looks like pretty heavy traffic to me.

Cool looking shot, Phil. Agree with the others on the utility poles. Really like the bumpy look in the road, as well. With a bit of speed, bet you could get a car to go airborne.

Hi Helen,

It does have the look of those shots with heat rising from the pavement - but it was only about 40 degrees that morning.

Looks like you may have used a long lens for the compression.
I tried a 400mm on a desert road similar to this, and the results were... not usual

Thanks Charlie - you're right about the lens. Lot of compression going on which probably accounts for some of the bumpiness.
