Hello everyone. I've been posting in the Macro section and Buying/Selling a bit, but this is my first post of a human! We (my wife Tiffany and I) were out for a Saturday drive, and during our exploring we stopped for an impromptu photoshoot. I've always leaned towards more bright, upbeat shoots, but this time I wanted to try something more moody.

I can't tell if I love them or hate them, but I'm always open to some feedback. Tell me what you think needs to improve, and I'll tell you what I don't like. Don't hold back...I'm tough!

Very very nice. She seems a little nervous or cautious on all but the last one. I think they are very nice indeed!

The smile is nice, but my favourite is the first one. Her presence and expression suit the somber mood and quiet tones - her eyes pop off the screen in that one!

I like them all - but #2 captures her mood nicely. She is very pretty and we should see more of her on this forum.

Using the clouds (the big softbox in the sky) gives you nice even light without harsh shadows.

My fav of the set is #4 - I fell for the smile. I'd consider a crop of the bottom of that frame. Maybe just below the upper set of buttons.

Another small thing - look at the whites of her eyes in #2 (especially) and #4. I see a tint creeping in. Some whitening might help if you don't go too bright. Eye whitening can be overdone easily.

I agree with Greg, the eyes are fantastic. When I was younger I never paid attention to the eyes, now that I'm older, and wiser, it's definitely the eyes that I look at first , and foremost. I also agree with Arthur on the warming bit, not too much, just a little. Great work.

Thanks for all the comments and tips everyone!

Regarding the tint in the eyes, I see some issues but most of it is from her contacts. Although she has brown eyes, her contacts are blue, and quite a bit larger than the iris of her eyes. The first thing I told her when I looked at the raw files was that she could never wear her contacts again for a shoot!

very nice! your wife is beautiful! I think 1-3 have a strong mood to them, not sure how to describe that mood but I keep looking !

#4 well the smile just brighten it up! Like a whole different person.

So in mt opinion you did very well in 1-3 to create a very different look.

I like these also, but the first three are virtually the same portrait as far as head tilt and expression.
