Linlithgow Palace sits on the shores of Linlithgow Loch in Central Scotland. The structure was built and added to over the years starting around 12th century. It was one of the principal residences of the monarchs of Scotland in the 15th and 16th centuries. When the Scottish monarchs left for England in 1603 the Palace was not used and, unfortunately it was ravaged with fire in 1746.
I took this shot at the weekend and was a bit disappointed with the way the Palace was lit. The illumination was only along one side, and not the most flattering side. Maybe it is poor maintenance of the lighting, maybe it is budget cuts, maybe it is a conscious decision to limit the lighting. It's just my opinion but I just would like to have seen it lit more. Perhaps I'll give them a call .......

Comments welcome.
