I have no experience with Bokeh 2, but from working on such things with PS ... I think the below reviewer's summary verdict tells it like it is relative to what to expect.
Real-world scenes consist of different objects and planes at different distances, and it's rare to be able to recreate depth of field effects accurately. But you can create the impression of depth of field very easily with Alien Skin Bokeh 2, and that's all you really need.
The more planes you are dealing with, and the more intricate the area of focus relative to oof, the more you're gonna need PS (as noted elsewhere in the review). As Bif mentions ... CS6 has the ability to use things like lens blur, iris blur, tilt/shift blur, (and all the other "regular" blurs), layers, gradients and masking to achieve (more) realistic results with some diligence if you study your planes well.
Without a degree of effort and attentiveness (or a really simple subject), there can often be tell tale signs of cgi bokeh vs. lens bokeh. But, if you are looking for something easy to create the general impression, and that's all you are looking for, some people will likely be happy with it.
I'll stick with glass when I can, and use CS6 tools when I can't.
