Orderded some gear from a Hong Kong seller off ebay. Tracking info has shown it to be inbound into NY customs for a week. How long should one wait before deciding its a lost cause and begin asking for a refund? Its about a week after the estimated delivery window already.
(Seller has thousands of positive feedback, so is not a scam/front. My concern is really that the package has been lost or waylayed by customs for some unknowable reason).

There isn't a general timetable for your question, or someone on FM who has a definitive answer. Keep in mind that ordering from Hong Kong takes more time than here in the states. You sort of suspended a timely delivery when you bought gear overseas. There isn't a penalty for asking for a refund even if you might receive your item in the process. Customs hangups are common, but at least you know it was shipped.
