Okay, some weirdness from my D 7000 today. I noticed that the focus wouldn't activate at all even though the lens was on focus mode. (U 2). That was strange. I checked in the menus and the shutter is set to release priority for both AFC and AF S. However the shutter will not release. I switched to different Mode.
That worked. A, P, M, V, and U1 continue to work but U 2 the release button simply went dead. I could hold it and it would not ever fire nor the focus track. Very very strange. Any suggestions on what might cause this? I have not yet tried to copy a new set Onto U 2, as I want to find the cause before I erase it.
I thought that AF A might be the cause, but that was not it.
