On the small Island of St. Kitts (Caribbeans), hundreds of these Cattle Egrets had no choice but to nest and raise their young on the thorn bushes in order to avoid the Mongoose; a mink-like mammal that was introduced by early human settlers to control snakes. Now has a devastating effect on all bird's population on almost all Caribbean islands...
(I was there last March, went back last week to check them out again, you can't miss them on the main road going west.)
1. Monther (or father) coming to feed the big monsters on right.
